Following having left Marvel Comics, Brian Bendis is now over at DC Comics, and it’s also learned Fox Studios has picked up Bendis to write a new Kitty Pryde X-Men movie, which will be directed by Deadpool‘s Tim Miller.
I’m no fan of Bendis, so this remains to be seen if it will be any good (and the reason Bendis only sold a lot of comics, IMO, is because he has always been paired with A-list artists and received heavy promotion that a lot of writers at Marvel never received).
We can also guess that when Fox Studios moves over to Marvel Studios, Bendis won’t be around, so at least Bendis on X-Men will probably be short-lived, thankfully.
It’s reported the X-Men spinoff movie is presently being developed under the code name “143” and will be set within the X-Men universe focusing on Kitty Pryde, a mutant who can phase through objects.
“143” is a reference to Uncanny X-Men #143 featuring Kitty Pryde versus a demon in the X-Mansion.
Kitty Pryde was most recently played by Ellen Page in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
