DC is releasing a Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition version of the 2009 animated movie.

And it’s said to be rated-R.

While the DCEU is contemplating a possible rated-R live-action film, WB has seen lots of success with rated-R version of their animated movies, with the latest being Justice League Dark.

Now apparently the 2009 Wonder Woman animated movie is getting the rated-R treatment as a listing as been spotted on Film Ratings showing that the Wonder Woman’s Director’s Cut, aka the Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition, has an R-rating. The first release was PG-13.

Update: The release will be PG-13 and will not be a Director’s Cut. WB initially wanted to release the Director’s Cut in hopes that it would get a PG-13 release, but when it got an R-rating, WB decided to release the original PG-13 version instead (minus the extra Director’s Cut version).

WB also released a trailer for the Wonder Woman: Commemorative Edition which will be released some time this year.

The 2009 Wonder Woman movie was directed by Lauren Montgomery starring the voice talent of Keri Russell as Wonder Woman , Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor , Alfred Molina as Ares, Rosario Dawson as Artemi, Marg Helgenberger as Hera, Oliver Platt as Hades, Virginia Madsen as Hippolyta, John DiMaggio as Deimos, Vicki Lewis as Persephone, and David McCallum as Zeus.
