It's learned that Diego Luna, known for Star Wars: Rogue One, will play Scarface in the reboot of the classic gangster movie.
Variety also reports Universal's Scarface reboot has lost director Antoine Fuqua as Sony and Denzel Washinton want Fuqua on board the sequel to The Equalizer ASAP.
It's further reported Universal is presently seeking directors to replace Antoine Fuqua on Scarface, and that they want the movie up and running by Spring.
The Scarface reboot is described as: "a reimagining of the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films. The new film will be set in Los Angeles and will focus on a Mexican immigrant."
