Tonight on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD saw the origin of the Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider.

You can read about and watch the Ghost Rider footage here.

The episode also saw another Ghost Rider – one who rides a motorcyle – leading many to speculation that it’s none other than Johnny Blaze. Agents of SHIELD actually featured a Johnny Blaze Easter Egg in an earlier episode, so the probability that it’s Johnny Blaze is pretty high.

Now we get what may be confirmation that the Ghost Rider in question is Johnny Blaze from Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson, on Twitter.

A fan asks Clark Gregg on Twitter if this means the original Ghost Rider exists within the Agents of SHIELD universe.

Clark Gregg replies, “Yup.”

While Clark Gregg didn’t specifically state Johnny Blaze, by most fans’ accounts of the comics, Johnny Blaze is the original Ghost Rider.

Whether or not we’ll see more of Johnny Blaze – or even Dan Ketch – on Agents of SHIELD remains to be seen.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs on Tuesdays at 10pm ET on ABC
