During New York Comic Con, Dotemu and Tribute Games surprised fans with the release of a free Steam demo for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, giving players their first hands-on experience with the 2025 beat ’em up.

You can play the MARVEL Cosmic Invasion demo right now on Steam. The fast-paced preview includes 9 playable heroes and multiple stages, including Marvel’s New York City and a brawl aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.
Playable characters in the demo:

- Wolverine
- Spider-Man
- Storm
- Nova
- Phyla-Vell
- Venom
- She-Hulk
- Rocket Raccoon
Each hero comes with their own move set and can be paired with another for tag-team gameplay using the “Cosmic Swap” system.
First Real Gameplay Showcase
Along with the demo drop, Marvel revealed brand-new gameplay footage showing off combos, level design, co-op mechanics, and the retro pixel art style that pays homage to classic arcade games. Players can switch between two heroes mid-fight, unleashing team attacks and special powers unique to each pairing. Watch below.
More to Come Before Launch
The full game promises a 15-hero roster, and with 13 now revealed, only two remain. Players will battle Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave across Marvel’s galaxy—from Earth to the Negative Zone—in this original story inspired by Marvel’s cosmic events.
Release Info
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion launches in 2025 for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, and Xbox. The full version will feature additional characters, levels, and full online and local multiplayer support.
