Pacific Rim 2 will begin filming in November.
The info comes from the announcement that Chinese actress Jing Tian has joined the cast. Tiang recently finished filming on The Great Wall with Matt Damon, and Kong: Skull Island with Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson.
Deadline reports Jing Tian’s role in Pacific Rim 2 is currently unknown.
Regarding the filming of Pacific Rim 2 in November, the sequel will shoot in Australia and China.
Pacific Rim 2 (dubbed “Malestrom”) has a February 23, 2018 release directed by Steven S. DeKnight, produced by Guillermo Del Toro, starring John Boyega as the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first movie, Scott Eastwood and Cailee Spaeny.
Plot details for Pacific Rim 2 are hard to come by but Guillermo Del Toro recently said a lot of the original cast wil return for the post-war setting. In addition, a while back saw mention by Del Toro that mankind may create Jaegr and Kaiju hybrids.
