Toy Fair Reveals Red Skull In Captain America 2?

The 2014 Toy Fair reveals that the Red Skull is a part of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier toy line.

Of course while the Red Skull may just be added as a simple additional villain, in their report, MTV mentions that when the products were introduced at the Toy Fair, the Red Skull seemed to be a part of the main movie line, with the comic book tie-in characters introduced later.

Here is the excerpt:

What makes this figure suspect, though, is that it’s positioned as part of the main action figure line, specifically for the sequel.

In fact, during Hasbro’s presentation they introduced a number of figures that were inspired by comics, though branded as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” including villain Baron Zemo, and a gigantic battle-suited Mandroid. The Red Skull was not part of this caveated line of toys.

Again, this may mean nothing and the inclusion of the Red Skull may actually be because of the character appearing in the first movie; however, there is a rumor floating around the net about the Red Skull and Captain America 2.  You can read about that below following the trailer.

Last we saw of the Red Skull in Captain America: The First Avenger was when he seemingly disappeared as a result of The Tesseract, which has been revealed to be an Infinity Stone (gem in the comics).

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has an April 4, 2014 release directed by the Russ Bros. starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily Van Camp, Hayley Atwell and Robert Redford.
