We more than likely have Spider-Man to thank, as itās revealed Venom will have a PG-13 rating, and not an R-rating like a lot of fans were hoping for.
In addition, itās said the run-time for Venom is around 1 hour and 52 minutes, and also that itās tracking for around aĀ $60 ā $85 million opening weekend.
Regarding why Venom is rated PG-13, itās thought because Sony wants to connect Venom to not only Spider-Man, but the MCU as well, including the Avengers.
The director recently dropped a bomb in that he couldnāt talk if Spider-Man is in the movie.
āI honestly donāt know what Iām allowed to say,ā Fleischer told theĀ LA Times. āI mean, I know the answer ā Iāve seen the movie. But I donāt want to get in trouble for saying something Iām not supposed to.ā
Likewise, an earlier report stated Sony wants to connect Venom to the Avengers, and that Tom Hardy and director Ruben FleischerĀ are injecting humor into the film.
The previous report made mention that Sony doesnāt want Venom to be too dark and gory as it ācould preclude other film match-ups, not just with Peter Parkerās alter-ego, but also with other members of the extendedā MCU.
Itās said Tom Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer have been working to inject humor into the story of journalist Eddie Brock whose body and mind are taken over by an alien symbiote.
