Han Solo A Disaster

Han Solo A Disaster

It’s again being said that Han Solo is a potential disaster.

Following a rumor from someone claiming to have been a LucasFilm employee stating Han Solo is an utter POS, now an actor a part of the movie has come out and revealed details about the production problems.

Vulture posted an interview with an actor who states working under former Han Solo directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller was not a good experience, yet once Ron Howard came on board things changed considerably.

The actor even goes so far as to state Alden Ehrenreich was struggling with his impersonation of Harrison Ford, so Disney brought an acting coach to help out who was regularly on set. According to the actor, the acting coach helped Alden Ehrenreich’s performance as Han Solo considerably.

Regarding Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the actor claims the pair didn’t know what they were doing as they would often demand more than 30 takes of a given scene, while Ron Howard would do the scene in two or three takes. It’s also said Ron Howard reshot the same scenes, but apparently Ron Howard wasn’t using the entire sets, only part of the sets (not shooting at a wide angle) to save money.

Speaking of money, it also is said to be a big factor for Han Solo, especially following Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s disappointing box office, which saw it under perform at the box office by Disney’s expectations.

“They have to make [Han Solo] good after The Last Jedi didn’t make as much money as expected,” the actor said. “If they want to keep making Star Wars movies, it has to be good.”

Disney is also in the hot seat over allegedly stealing the ideas for the Han Solo movie posters.

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story has a May 25, 2018 release directed by Ron Howard starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson as Becket, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, with Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
