Matt Reeves is giving fans their first real tease from The Batman: Part II, and it looks like the Batmobile is getting ready for a cold ride through Gotham.
Reeves posted new behind-the-scenes shots of the Batmobile with the caption “snow tires,” showing Robert Pattinson’s ride tearing through what appears to be a snowy, muddy, winter-set location.
The images look like camera monitor shots from production, which strongly suggests filming is now underway on the sequel.
Update: Reeves confirmed on X that the images are a part of camera testing, and confirmed the sequel will be set in snow.
The Batman: Part II is set to get released on October 1, 2027.
Matt Reeves Teases Snow Tires For The Batman: Part II
The new images show the Batmobile in action, with its headlights cutting through the dark while snow and dirt kick up around the vehicle.
The “snow tires” caption is simple, but Batman fans are already going to run with it.
At the very least, it points to a winter setting for part of The Batman: Part II. That alone fits Reeves’ grounded Gotham, which already leaned hard into rain, grime, crime, corruption, and noir atmosphere in the first movie.
But it could also be a bigger tease.

Is Mr. Freeze Being Teased?
The snow angle is already fueling speculation that Mr. Freeze could be involved in The Batman: Part II.
Nothing has been confirmed, so for now it is only fan speculation. Still, the snowy Batmobile shots are enough to get people talking, especially since Reeves has kept the sequel’s villain details locked down.
Mr. Freeze would also fit the kind of tragic, grounded villain Reeves could rework for this universe. The character has a built-in emotional hook with Nora Fries, and Reeves’ Gotham is already built around damaged people, obsession, and corruption.

The Batman: Part II Cast
IMDb currently lists the cast with Robert Pattinson back as Bruce Wayne, Barry Keoghan as The Joker, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
The listing also includes Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, and Charles Dance as Christopher Dent.
As always with IMDb, some listings can change, especially on a movie still in production. Warner Bros. has not revealed the full official cast breakdown for The Batman: Part II.
Reeves Co-Wrote The Sequel
Matt Reeves returns to direct The Batman: Part II and co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin.
The production companies listed include 6th & Idaho Productions, DC Studios, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Warner Bros.
The producers listed include Dylan Clark, James Gunn, and Peter Safran, with James Biddle listed as executive producer. Erik Messerschmidt is listed as cinematographer.
Gotham Gets Colder
The Batman ended with Gotham flooded and Bruce Wayne realizing the city needed more than fear. The Penguin series then continued the crime saga side of Reeves’ universe, with Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb rising in the aftermath.
Now, The Batman: Part II looks to be moving into a colder Gotham.
