Patty Jenkins Star Wars Still In Development But Not Guaranteed To Happen

Following it learned that Wonder Woman 3 is dead, director Patty Jenkins has set the record straight regarding her Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie at Disney and Lucasfilm.

In a message posted to Twitter, Patty Jenkins touches upon the status of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron prior to explaining what happened with Wonder Woman 3.

“Here are the facts: I originally left Rogue Squadron after a long and productive development process when it became clear it couldn’t happen soon enough and I did not want to delay WW3 any further.,” said Jenkins. “When I did, Lucasfilm asked me to consider coming back to RS after WW3, which I was honored to do, so I agreed. They made a new deal with me. In fact, I am still on it and that project has been in active development ever since. I don’t know if it will happen or not. We never do until the development process is complete, but I look forward to its potential ahead.”

Will Star Wars: Rogue Squadron get released?

Back in September saw Disney and Lucasfilm remove Star Wars: Rogue Squadron from its release schedule, as the flick was originally supposed to be released on Dec. 22, 2023.

So according to what Jenkins is claiming, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron getting delayed was because of Wonder Woman 3 which then saw Disney and Lucasfilm sign her to a new contract to return once Wonder Woman 3 was done.

However, now that Wonder Woman 3 isn’t happening, it remains to be seen whether or not Star Wars: Rogue Squadron will actually happen, as we see Jenkins says she doesn’t know if it will happen.

With Wonder Woman 3 not happening, you would think Disney and Lucasfilm would fast-track Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, but that hasn’t been announced.
