Justice League Sees The True Superman Says Henry Cavill

Superman returns next week in the Justice League movie!

While WB has kept Henry Cavill and Superman out of the limelight, some new information comes from the official Justice League magazine that is currently on sale. Not only does the magazine feature new images of Henry Cavill and Superman, but Cavill also offered the following including that the Justice League movie will feature the “true” Superman!

“Geoff [Johns] and I have been delving into the history of the character to get to the core of who Superman is,” Cavill said. “This is the first time we see the true Superman. The Superman who is confident, and sure, and full of hope and joy.”

A while back also saw Geoff Johns tease an epic return for Superman in the Justice League movie as Johns told fans on Twitter to “get ready to revise your list” in regards to the best Superman moments–obviously meaning more epic Superman moments are going to happen in the Justice League movie.

Getting back to the Justice League magazine, Henry Cavill also offers:

“It’s very, very surreal. This is a wonderful job. I love my job, especially when I’m playing Superman, but sometimes you do start to feel the wear and tear of a long day. There was one point where I was standing in one of the huge green screen sets – which can be quite draining in itself, because it’s a very bright, aggressive green – and I was standing there at the top of these big stairs, thinking how hungry I am, and looking forward to getting to bed…and then I had this moment when I suddenly realized that Cyborg, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman were all standing there, and it looked so fantastic. All of a sudden, my tiredness slipped away. I wasn’t hungry any more. I just wanted to live in this moment and remember that I’m doing the thing that I wanted to do as a kid. I’m essentially playing Super Heroes, but as real as it gets as an adult. I’m very thankful for that kind of thing.”

And Henry Cavill also says Superman is the heavy hitter of the group:

“It’s much like the United States with the League of Nations. Without that keystone, the Justice League doesn’t really work. It’s still a fantastic group of people, but Superman tends to be the heavy hitter of the League. He sometimes takes a leadership role, but most of the time it’s Batman who takes a leadership role. Superman is more the moral compass for the League.”

No footage of Superman has yet been released in Justice League as it looks as if they are holding out for the premiere this coming Friday.

Justice League has a November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder, with the story by Chris Terrio and Zack Snyder, the screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Willem Dafoe an Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
