Owen Wilson Joins Loki Disney Plus Series

Owen Wilson joins the cast of the Loki Disney Plus series which is starring Tom Hiddleston who returns as the Asgardian trickster and brother to Thor.

Just who the character Owen Wilson plays in the MCU is remaining a mystery, with the character described as “prominent,” but the casting is pretty big news as Wilson is a big star known for flicks such as The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Zoolander, Night at the Museum, Cars, Meet the Parents, Wedding Crashers and more.

Filming on the Loki series is now underway, as Tom Hiddleston recently teased he is prepping, with the series expected to be released on Disney Plus in the Spring of 2021.

Loki ties into Doctor Strange 2

It’s also known that, along with WandaVision, Loki will directly tie into Doctor Strange 2, as all three will deal with the Marvel Multiverse.

Kevin Feige is executive producing the series, with Michael Waldron and Kate Herron also executive producing Loki; Waldron is writing the series and Herron will direct.

Last we saw of Tom Hiddleston and Loki was in The Avengers: Endgame when the trickster escaped using the Tessaract, which houses the Space Stone. It’s guessed that Loki may escape through time and space, which leads to Multiverse adventures also involving Kid Loki, Female Loki, and an LGBTQ version that sees the eventual intervention of Doctor Strange.

Also in the works from Marvel for Disney Plus includes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, which is said to be getting released this August, and Marvel is also said to have pushed the release date up for WandaVision to this year, from a Spring 2021 release.
