Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal And Eiza González Reteam With Guy Ritchie

Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González are reteaming with Guy Ritchie on another movie.

Cavill and González recently wrapped with Ritchie on the WWII movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and Gyllenhaal stars in Ritchie’s action thriller Afghanistanian war film The Covenant which was just released and has a 98% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Guy Ritchie also directed Henry Cavill in The Man from UNCLE, and Gyllenhaal and González recently starred together in 2022’s Ambulance directed by Michael Bay.

The details for their new movie are said to be infused with Ritchie’s trademark humor and, according to Deadline, will revolve around two extraction specialists who must plan an escape path for a high-level female negotiator.

“There’s something special that happens when you collaborate with the same partners regularly: you build a shorthand and a trust that lets everybody do their best work,” said Ritchie in a statement. “Jake, Henry and Eiza are all astonishingly talented, committed, and engaging actors. This is going to be an action-packed movie that is both intellectually stimulating and physically exhilarating.”

The flick is also headed to the upcoming Cannes Film Festival where it will be on the market, said to be the biggest-budget project at the event, with filming expected to start in Spain this summer.

Further details include that the script for the movie is penned by Guy Ritchie, who will be serving as a producer alongside his partner Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg from Black Bear International, who has also produced Ritchie’s previous two films.

Regarding The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the film is inspired by true events and charts UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s and James Bond creator Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization.

Henry Cavill is said to be playing the leader of the secret combat organization, with Eiza Gonzales said to be playing a military sniper with extraordinary spy-craft abilities. The film also stars Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding, Henrique Zaga, Cary Elwes, Babs Olusanmokun, and Til Schweiger.

Henry Cavill is also developing a live-action Warhammer adaptation at Prime Video and is starring in Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle spy series for Apple TV+.
