James Gunn Casts Steve Agee As King Shark For The Suicide Squad

After teasing the character numerous times, James Gunn has cast comedian Steve Agee as his King Shark for The Suicide Squad.

Deadline is hearing that Steve Agee will provide the voiceover to super-villain King Shark who in the comics is a man that becomes a humanoid shark and is often involved with Superboy and Aquaman.

Agee is known for playing Gef the Ravager in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and, he also played Comic Book Store Jerk for Gunn in Super. At one time Michael Rooker was even rumored for the role.

Gunn recently received King Shark cakes for his birthday and confirmed the character with the Suicide Scrabble game.  

King Shark was actually going to be a part of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad at one time as concept art was created. Check it out below.

The Suicide Squad has an August 6, 2021 release date also starring Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), with new castmembers including Idris Elba (role unknown), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher) and Nathan Fillion. John Cena is also rumored to be playing Peacemaker, with German actor, DJ and comedian Flula Borg up for a role.
