Deadpool 3 Happening At Marvel Confirms Ryan Reynolds

Last Tuesday saw Ryan Reynolds confirm that Deadpool 3 is happening at Marvel Studios.

The Merc With The Mouth actor appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Christmas Eve where Reynolds was asked if there are plans for another movie in the franchise.

“Yeah, yeah. We are working on it right now with a whole team,” Reynolds said. “We are over at Marvel now which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kind of crazy, so yeah, we’re working on it.”

Back in October also saw Ryan Reynolds tease Deadpool 3 as he posted an image of himself on social media while at the Marvel offices.

Deadpool is a go at Marvel

“Auditioned for the role of ‘Anthony Stark.’ Didn’t come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground,” Reynolds joked on Instagram.

Disney has already confirmed that new Deadpool movies can be rated R, as they would be a part of a separate brand than the family-friendly Marvel Studios popcorn films. Recently also saw Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick touch on the topic of rated R DP movies at Disney.

“We’re always in touch with Ryan,” Wernick told Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve got several projects with him in addition to the Deadpool universe. I think the party line and truth is we’re all still figuring it out. Marvel has promised to continue to let us play in the R-rated Deadpool universe, and the hope is that they will also let us veer into the MCU a little bit as well and play in that sandbox. Our feeling and Ryan’s feeling is that it’s got to be the right idea, it’s got to be great… I think once we collectively agree what idea that great idea is we’ll be off to the races. Ryan’s super-busy, we’ve got a lot of projects lined up, but we wake up thinking about Deadpool, and we go to sleep thinking about Deadpool.”

While at Fox Studios, the two Deadpool movies grossed over $1.56 billion.
