John Wick 4 Sequel Series In The Works Minus Keanu Reeves

Lionsgate is going to continue milking the John Wick franchise as a sequel series to the fourth movie is in development, which won’t have Keanu Reeves as the super assassin.

Instead, John Wick: Under The High Table will follow the events of John Wick 4.

Per Deadline: The series picks up directly after the end of John Wick: Chapter 4. John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position and a collection of new characters will look to make a name for themselves while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order.

The series promises to “combine new and old and thrust the Wick universe into a new age,” which indicates a mix of newly created and existing characters.

Keanu Reeves is executive producing along with John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski, who is also said to be directing the pilot episode. Stahelski also has creative oversite over the franchise and recently retooled the spinoff movie, The Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas.

A John Wick spinoff starring Donnie Yen as Caine is also supposed to happen. John Wick 5 is also supposed to happen. There is also that prequel series, The Continental, that aired for a season on Peackcock.

It remains to be seen if the John Wick franchise can exist without Keanu Reeves as the star. I always thought a good spinoff would have been with Common following John Wick 2.
