Elle Fanning Starring In Predator ‘Badlands’

The new Predator Badlands movie in development will star Elle Fanning.

Her role is under wraps as is the plot, but a previous report said the flick will be set in the future, while the previous Predator movie, Prey, followed actress Amber Midthunder as a Comanche warrior set 300 years in the past who battled a highly evolved alien predator.

The title “Badlands” also sounds similar to Mad Max, so maybe it will be a “Mad Max” take on Predator. However, that said, Furiosa recently bombed so we’ll have to see what Badlands is really about. If it gets a Hulu release like Prey, it might not matter.

Additional details include Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is directing who is reteaming with Prey writer Patrick Aison.

THR also adds that Disney’s 20th Century Studios has big plans for the franchise as more Predator projects are underway with Trachtenberg at the center of a growing universe.

Elle Fanning happens to be the younger sister of Dakota Fanning and she is known for The Great TV series, The Girl from Plainville, Disney’s Maleficent movies, and starred with Peter Dinklage in the post-apocalyptic movie, I Think We’re Alone Now.

Dan Trachtenberg is also known for 10 Cloverfield Lane, and he has directed an episode of The Boys, Black Mirror, The Lost Symbol, and directs and episode of the final season of Stranger Things.

The Predator franchise kicked off with the release of Predator in 1987, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The franchise has expanded to include sequels, spin-offs, comic books, novels, and video games.
