Venom 3: Tom Hardy Again Teases Spider-Man Connection

Summary:

  • Tom Hardy teases a possible connection between Venom and Spider-Man for Venom 3
  • Hardy released a new set image featuring him as Eddie Brock in the same clothing as seen in the mid-credit scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home
  • There are rumors of a connection between the Sony Spider-Verse and the MCU, but it is unclear if Venom will connect

Tom Hardy again teases a possible Spider-Man connection for Venom 3 as the actor has released a new set image.

Similar to the pic he released back in November, Tom Hardy appears as Eddie Brock again wearing the same clothing he wore in theĀ VenomĀ 2 post-credit scene and theĀ Spider-Man: No Way HomeĀ mid-credit scene.

ā€œTwo Masters of their own destiny and two randoms from SW London spinning in the cosmos one with a compass the other wears his wetsuit and carries an aubergine,ā€ posted Hardy on Instagram three days ago.

Is Venom its own thing or connected to Spider-Man and the MCU?

Various rumors have offered the Sony Spider-Verse is going to connect to the MCU and possibly even Spider-Man 4.

With Tom Hardy shown wearing the same clothing from theĀ Spider-Man: No Way HomeĀ mid-credit scene, it appears as if Venom 3 will at least be a direct continuation from that movie.

Now that doesn’t mean it’s a connection to the MCU or Spider-Man, as the mid-credit scene actually nixed connections when Eddie said he didn’t know who The Avengers are, who Thanos was, and didn’t know The Blip.

So that means the Tom Hardy Eddie Brock and Venom were never originally from the MCU 616 universe, and as the Spider-Man: No Way HomeĀ mid-credit scene revealed, Eddie goes back to his own universe.

However, part of Venom was left behind which is thought to set up the Tom Holland Spider-Man wearing a black suit in Avengers: Secret Wars (similar to the comics) and maybe even a different version of Venom for the MCU.

Venom 3 gets released on November 8, 2024 directed by Kelly Marcel and also starring Juno Temple, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
