Superman David Corenswet Fan Art Shows Off Costume With New Symbol

Summary

  • A fan has created a super cool design for Superman’s new costume based on inspiration from the art of Alex Ross
  • The movie is inspired by the original Richard Donner film and Christopher Reeve Man of Steel
  • The official reveal of the new Superman costume will not happen until after filming is complete

We may have our best look at the new Superman David Corenswet costume thanks to super cool fan art.

On Thursday, Director and co-head of the DCU, James Gunn, recently released the first look at the new Superman symbol.

Gunn has also since confirmed a big inspiration for the “S” happens to be the art of Alex Ross, who did art for Kingdom Come which features that same design.

Super cool fan art

Now a filmmaker, 3D artist, and designer via Twitter offers his take on what the Superman David Corenswet costume could look like, which again, looks pretty cool and could be right on the money.

“Took me two full days of work and a sleepless night to make this. My own design of what I think @corenswet #superman costume will look like in the movie. I personally think this may be my best work so far. Hope you like it!” states the tweet.

Likely a homage to Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve

The design actually reminds me of one of those Mego action figures as well as the Christopher Reeve costume.

It’s known Gunn loves the original Richard Donner movie and there is no doubt he is in part paying homage, so it’s probably safe to assume the David Corenswet Superman costume will look similar to the Christopher Reeve suit.

I also like how this fan art shows off Corenswet with muscles as pics have shown the actor to have made a massive body transformation.

Regarding when the official reveal will come, back in November, Gunn revealed the new David Corenswet Superman suit will “definitely not” be revealed to the world “until after we’re filming.”
