Scoop Confirmed: Fantastic Four Borrowing From Captain America

Scoop Confirmed: Fantastic Four Borrowing From Captain America

Four years ago, my Comic-Con insiders told me the Fantastic Four in the MCU would take a page out of Captain America.

Now YouTuber Grace Randolph says more of the same.

Randolph offers the Fantastic Four movie will reportedly be set in the 1960s and they will be sent out of time similar to Captain America.

What I was told four years ago

What I was told four years ago by Marvel insiders at Comic-Con is that the potential origin story of how the Fantastic Four will be introduced in the MCU takes a page from Captain America.

I was told that an idea floated around at the time would see the Fantastic Four as existing in the past alongside Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Wasp, so that fits with the rumors about the flick being set in the past and in the ’60s.

So what this means is that the Fantastic Four have always been a part of the MCU. So what happened to them? Why haven’t they been around? Why haven’t they been around for The Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War, Endgame, etc.?

My source told me the Fantastic Four get trapped in the Negative Zone, and when they come out, it is the present day, and they haven’t aged.

It’s also possible the MCU might swap the Negative Zone for the Quantum Realm, as recall in Avengers: Endgame how Scott Lang appeared five years later while traveling through the Quantum Realm and didn’t age and only five minutes or so went by, but possibly the same type of physics applies to the Negative Zone as well (Marvel may want to move away from the Pyms and the Quantum Realm following Quantumania bombing).

Feige could be adapting Nova, Annihilation, and Fantastic Four from the comics

Also as I theorized years ago, the Fantastic Four could have ties to the Annihilation event from the comics, as Annihilus could be introduced from the Negative Zone, which ties to Nova, as well as both Silver Surfer and Galactus.

Recently saw the news about the Nova actors, and it’s rumored the big villain of FF is Galactus with the Silver Surfer also now said to be a part of the movie.

The Marvel Comics have also tied the Fantastic Four to Nova and Annihilation, which didn’t happen in the original event, so Feige could be thinking of tieing them all together in the MCU. Let’s hope Feige does a better job with all of this than he has with Secret Invasion, another big event from the comics.

Fantastic Four has a May 2, 2025 release date directed by Matt Shakman, with Josh Friedman writing, and the latest rumors offer the film will be all about Sue Storm Invisible Woman, played by Vanessa Kirby, with Joseph Quinn (Eddie from Stranger Things) up to play Johnny Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach in a role, with it still said Adam Driver is in the mix to play Reed.
