Joker 2 Trailer Is Here With Big YouTube Warning

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the Joker 2 trailer which happens to come with a big warning which is for the first time I’ve seen anything like this on YouTube.

The trailer, released late on Tuesday night, on YouTube, comes with a warning that says, “The following content may contain suicide or self-harm topics.”

The warning adds, “View discretion is advised.”

Users can then press a button to continue to watch the trailer: “I understand and wish to proceed.”

Normally, for Red-Band “mature” trailers, a user has to be signed into YouTube to view the trailer, but, again, this is the first time I’ve seen a warning such as this.

Checking other YouTube channels, I don’t see the warning, such as with IGN, who Warner Bros. allows to play the trailer, but if I put it on my own YouTube channel or Facebook page, I would get a copyright notice and WB would take all the revenue.

So it seems as if this is “warning” more at the request of WB, which since IGN and other channels don’t come with the warning means it’s likely for marketing purposes.

Also, the “warning” doesn’t seem to be showing up for the embedded version of the trailer.

You can watch the trailer below.

Joker: Folie à Deux gets released on October 4, 2024 directed by Todd Phillips and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
