Zack Snyder Shares New Image of Knightmare Batman: ‘One Last Gamble’

Zack Snyder has shared yet another DCEU throwback, this time featuring Ben Affleck in full Knightmare Batman gear, from the post-apocalyptic timeline seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Snyder captioned the Instagram post:

“Bruce Wayne, on the run in a broken future—hunted by Parademons and you know who.
A world lost. A last gamble. One chance to send Flash back and reset everything.
From Zack Snyder’s Justice League—the nightmare timeline where hope is almost extinct.”

The post happens to follow the recent news that Paramount pushed back against Warner Bros. Discovery after its latest rejection and continued backing of Netflix.

The Knightmare Timeline Revisited

The Knightmare sequence remains one of the most intriguing and visually distinct parts of Snyder’s DC films.

Originally introduced in Batman v Superman and expanded in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the dystopian vision teased a brutal future ruled by Darkseid, where Superman has fallen to anti-life and Batman leads a resistance to change the timeline.

Snyder’s new image brings fans right back to that world, showing Affleck’s Batman fully armed and armored, a stark contrast to the more traditional takes seen in the theatrical cuts.

Another Reminder of the Unfinished Story

This latest post continues Snyder’s streak of DC nostalgia, following recent uploads featuring Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, Amber Heard’s Mera, and Michael Shannon’s Zod.

Each image has fueled ongoing speculation about whether these characters — and this timeline — could return if Warner Bros. Discovery changes hands.

The Knightmare storyline was meant to lead directly into a sequel that would explore the Flash’s time-travel gamble and the eventual redemption of Superman.

While that film never materialized, Snyder’s social media posts are keeping the vision alive.

Fans Still Want More

With every post, the SnyderVerse discussion gains new traction.

Fan response to the Knightmare image has been swift, with many calling again for Warner Bros. — or whoever ends up owning it — to revisit the timeline and finish what was started.

As always, Snyder makes no promises, but he doesn’t need to. The images say it all.
