Following again exactly what I first told you from my insiders, Wilson Bethel admits being disappointed and frustrated with Daredevil: Born Again.
The actor, who plays Benjamin âDexâ Poindexter/Bullseye, says he had some frustration with the Disney+ showâs first season.
While Bethel made it clear there were strong moments, he says the return did not hit as hard as he had hoped, after fans had waited years for Daredevil to come back.

Wilson Bethel Wanted Daredevil: Born Again To Be A âBangerâ Right Away
Bethel talked about Daredevil: Born Again during a recent appearance on the Brandon Davis YouTube channel, where he discussed the first season and what he hoped the Disney+ revival would deliver out of the gate.
He said his main frustration was not with the fans, but with the show having to âsettle at allâ after such a long wait.
âI think my only frustration â and you know I donât think Iâm like setting the world on fire with this comment â but my only frustration is that I think I have so much respect for what this show is and has been,â Bethel said. âI think the fans are so deeply invested, have so much respect for the show, hold it to such a high standard, that it was it was frustrating for me a little bit, that we had to settle at all in coming back with that first season.â
Bethel said he wanted the first season of Born Again to have the same quality he now sees in Season 2.
âI wanted it to be out the gateâŠâ he said. âI wanted what the quality of this season â season two, Born Again â thatâs what I wanted for the first season.â

Fans Waited Years For Daredevilâs Return
Bethel pointed to the long gap between the original Netflix Daredevil series and the Disney+ revival.
âPeople have been waiting six, seven years,â he said. âHow different does it hit, if out the gate, after that wait, you get like a fâkinâ banger season of TV?â
He added that Season 1 had âsome good moments,â but did not fully deliver the impact he wanted.
âWe got some good moments but it was not like it was not just that âfân oh sh-t Daredevilâs back,ââ Bethel said. âIt was like âDaredevilâs back.ââ

Born Again Had A Messy Road To Disney+
Bethelâs comments line up with the larger conversation around Daredevil: Born Again.
Again as I first told you, the series went through a major creative overhaul before release, with Marvel shifting direction after production had already started. That behind-the-scenes reset became part of the showâs story before the first season even arrived.
For fans of the Netflix series, expectations were high. Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock, Vincent DâOnofrio returned as Wilson Fisk, and the show was sold as the big comeback for one of Marvelâs most respected TV characters.
Bethelâs point is simple: after that long of a wait, the return needed to land harder.
