The first trailer for Evil Dead Burn has leaked online, and it’s not the same footage shown at CinemaCon. The teaser also reveals a new release date, two weeks earlier than the previous one.
A shorter teaser has started playing in theaters ahead of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, which opened Friday, and that version has now made its way online.
Unlike the brutal CinemaCon footage, this one is a green-band cut with different material and a more restrained look at what Warner Bros. has in store for the next Evil Dead movie.
The leaked trailer is different from the CinemaCon footage
As previously reported, the CinemaCon footage went hard with the gore right out of the gate.
That trailer opened with a mother unloading a dishwasher full of silverware before she comes face to face with an undead corpse with severed fingers and a car headrest jammed through her head and neck.
Things only got worse from there, including a kid getting slammed onto the open dishwasher and impaled.
The leaked teaser attached to The Mummy sounds different. It features new footage not shown at CinemaCon and plays more like a public-facing setup than the blood-soaked industry reel.
