Trailer Teases Global Alien Revelation

The new trailer again centers on the question of what humanity would do if proof of extraterrestrial life suddenly became undeniable.

The footage asks, “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?”

The marketing frames the event as something shared by the entire planet, declaring, “This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people,” while warning that the world is drawing closer to Disclosure Day.

The tagline in the latest footage states, “This summer everything will become clear,” reinforcing the idea that the film revolves around a moment when long-hidden information about alien life becomes public knowledge.

Steven Spielberg Returns to UFO Sci-Fi

Disclosure Day marks another return to alien-themed science fiction for Spielberg. The filmmaker previously explored humanity’s relationship with extraterrestrial life in films such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and War of the Worlds.

The new film appears to follow a similar approach by focusing on the global impact of discovery rather than action-driven spectacle.

The screenplay is written by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Spielberg on Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Those projects collectively earned more than $3 billion worldwide.

Cast Includes Emily Blunt and Colin Firth

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. Universal Pictures is positioning the project as a major original event film for summer 2026.

The film is produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Adam Somner and Chris Brigham serving as executive producers.

Disclosure Day Release Date

Universal Pictures will release Disclosure Day exclusively in theaters on June 12, 2026.
