Lewis Pullman Says Avengers: Doomsday Gives Every Character A Moment

Speaking with Esquire Magazine, Pullman explained that Avengers: Doomsday gets back to what makes these characters work in the first place.

“It’s going back to the serum of the human archetypes that our art is built off of,” Pullman said. “Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them.”

What Pullman says should be welcome news for Marvel fans, especially given that Avengers: Doomsday is expected to feature a huge ensemble. One of the biggest concerns with movies like this is whether certain heroes will be pushed to the side. According to Pullman, that won’t be happening.

Russo Brothers Reportedly Avoiding Background Roles

Pullman also praised Joe and Anthony Russo for how they are handling the massive cast.

“The Russo brothers did that so well,” he said. “They do not want anyone just sitting in the background. They really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together.”

It sounds like the Russos are trying to avoid one of the usual crossover movie problems, where some of the biggest names have little to do while the story centers on only a handful of characters.

Lewis Pullman Teases Exciting Marvel Pair-Ups

Pullman also hinted that Avengers: Doomsday will deliver some unexpected team-ups between characters.

“There’s a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen,” he said. “A lot of fans will be really excited. It’s so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D would work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come into fruition.”

One of the movie’s biggest selling points could be the long-awaited character pairings. Marvel fans have spent years imagining which characters would be fun to see share scenes, and Pullman is teasing Doomsday may finally make a lot of those ideas happen.

Avengers: Doomsday gets released on December 18, 2026.
