Fallout Season 2 Review: Near-Perfect TV

Fallout Season 2 delivers another killer ride through the wasteland. I’d rate it a strong 9/10, as it’s violent, stylish, and surprisingly thoughtful. Definitely worth a watch.

Walton Goggins as The Ghoul is easily the highlight. His performance keeps the show moving, and his story is clearly far from over. Every time he’s on screen, the show just clicks. I’m genuinely hooked on where his journey is headed. I wouldn’t mind if the entire show was centered on him.

The Brotherhood of Steel also gets a major spotlight this season. The mech units are super cool, and they give things a real power-armor punch. That post-credit tease has me itching for more, even without knowing the game lore.

Speaking of which, I haven’t played the recent Fallout games (just the first one years ago), so I’m coming in fresh. That might actually make it better, as I don’t know what’s coming (and what to expect), so every twist and reveal lands even better and harder.

The post-apocalyptic world still feels familiar: grimy, broken, and darkly funny, just like I remember from the original game.

Visually, the show nails it. The special effects are top-notch, and the production design really sells the wasteland.

If I had one gripe, it’s that the world feels a bit too small. For a looming big war(?), it doesn’t seem like there are many people or factions, more like skirmishes between a few scattered groups.

Still, it’s one of the best video game adaptations out there, and it’s a show I highly look forward to watching when it’s on. I can’t say that about most shows.

Bring on Season 3.
