First Look at Charlie Cox in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Your first look at Charlie Cox in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has arrived, and Empire’s 2026 preview confirms Marvel is giving the series a clean slate.

The new image shows Matt Murdock in the black suit, suited up by the water at night, with a darker, more armored look that fits the direction Marvel is pushing the show.

Season 2 Has “Total Freedom”

Producer Sana Amanat tells Empire that Season 2 is essentially a reboot of the reboot — the writers now have full creative freedom after Season 1’s troubled production and overhaul.

“The landscape was open, and that was so liberating,” she said. “We can do whatever we want.”

As we first exclusively revealed, Season 1 was retooled from a procedural-style concept that sidelined major elements from the Netflix run. Season 2 restores the tone fans expect: Daredevil vs. Kingpin, Hell’s Kitchen at risk, and a more intense grounded style.

Matt Murdock’s New Mission

According to Empire, Matt enters Season 2 physically weakened after taking a bullet for Wilson Fisk — yes, he saved the man who’s trying to crush the city. That injury, plus Kingpin’s rise to power, forces Matt to rethink how he protects Hell’s Kitchen.

He’s now building a vigilante network, stepping deeper into the street-level war, even as his own body struggles to keep up.

Kingpin Rules New York

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk is now Mayor of New York City and running the “Safer Streets Initiative,” a crackdown on masked vigilantes. The new season digs into what Fisk wants now that he has everything.

Amanat hints the story will explore how dangerous Fisk becomes when power stops being enough.

Jessica Jones Returns

Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones, but she’s not joining a team, she’s getting pulled in because it’s personal. Amanat says she brings the attitude and humor needed to cut through Daredevil’s darker tone.

Her presence confirms Marvel is slowly rebuilding the street-level corner fans actually like.

Born Again… Again

Between Cox’s darker suit, the street-level focus, and the return of Ritter, Season 2 finally looks and feels like the continuation fans have waited years for.

Season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
