Netflix has dropped the full trailer for The Witcher Season 4, offering an extended look at Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia. The season premieres October 30.
Season 4 picks up after the chaos of Season 3, with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri separated by war and hunted by new enemies. As their paths diverge, they forge uneasy alliances that may be the key to surviving—and reuniting.

Hemsworth Becomes The White Wolf
Liam Hemsworth officially takes over the role from Henry Cavill this season. While the casting brought skepticism when announced, Hemsworth has reportedly thrown himself into the role with serious preparation—physical training, sword work, and months of on-set immersion.
In a behind-the-scenes feature from Netflix’s Tudum, Hemsworth revealed he was a longtime Witcher fan and gamer.
“I’m a bit of a secret gamer. I was such a big fan of this character, so it was a bit of a pinch-yourself moment to walk around in this costume I once saw in a video game,” said Hemsworth.
He admits to initial hesitation about stepping in mid-series but says a conversation with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich gave him the confidence to take it on.

Redefining Geralt
This new Geralt won’t be a carbon copy of Cavill’s. Hissrich says Hemsworth brings a different tone—more humor, more emotion, and, notably, more cursing.
A new scar across Geralt’s face, revealed in the trailer, will be explained in-universe and signals a fresh chapter for the character. Costume designer Lucinda Wright collaborated with Hemsworth to adjust Geralt’s armor, including ditching buckles and adding a western-style belt and jacket influence.
“Any day I put on the actual body armor, and I’m in proper Witcher mode, I feel like it forces you to walk a little differently and hold your head a little higher,” Hemsworth said.

Geralt’s Final Chapter
Netflix confirmed The Witcher will end with Season 5, which is filming back-to-back with Season 4. Hemsworth says he’s honored to bring Geralt’s journey to a close:
“As a fan myself of this character and this world… I’m just excited to continue on this journey,” he said.
