Cavill’s Previous Injury
This isn’t the first time the actor has been sidelined. Back in 2021, Cavill suffered a hamstring injury while filming The Witcher Season 2 in the UK, which caused a significant delay in production.

The Cast and Crew
Highlander stars Cavill as Connor MacLeod, with Russell Crowe as Ramirez, Dave Bautista as Kurgan, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang also appearing.
The script comes from Michael Finch, with producers including UA’s Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt, Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment, Davis Panzer Productions, and Louise Rosner.
Stahelski’s Highlander will revive the classic story of immortal warriors battling through the centuries, leading to a final confrontation for ultimate power.

The Franchise Legacy
United Artists secured full rights to the 1986 original from Lionsgate, with the potential to develop a new series in addition to Stahelski’s film.
The original Highlander, directed by Russell Mulcahy, starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and became a cult classic, spawning sequels, a long-running Adrian Paul TV series, and a loyal fanbase.

Cavill’s Busy Slate
While Highlander is delayed, Cavill still has multiple films in the pipeline. He’s wrapped Voltron, Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey, and Enola Holmes 3 for Netflix.
Last year, he appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and Argylle.
He’s also rumored for Marvel’s Nova series, and IMDb has him listed as being involved in Broadsword and The Rosie Project.
