Both Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin have signed off on David Corenswet as the new Superman, giving the actor their blessing to play the new Man of Steel for James Gunn.
Of course, Henry Cavill played Superman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU. Tyler Hoechlin played the Man of Steel in The CW DC universe.
What did David Corenswet say about Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin?
“Had to the pleasure of exchanging letters with two previous Supermans, Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin,” said Corenswet. “Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words ‘I’m not going to give you any tips.’ And I think that’s a very Superman thing.”
Corenswet continued, “Superman’s not so much for giving advice or dictating how other people should be. They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of ‘have fun with it,’ which I think is Superman’s way of doing it, too.”
He added, “They were very encouraging and we had a lovely exchange. I’m excited to meet them one day. It will be freat when we can all get in a room together.”
