Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon just watched the finished film, and he’s hyped.

With Mortal Kombat II set to hit theaters on October 24, Ed Boon, co-creator of the iconic video game franchise, just revealed he’s seen the completed movie and his verdict is a flawless victory.
“Just FINISHED watching the final version of the MORTAL KOMBAT 2 movie! These guys nailed it!!” tweeted Boon.
Boon didn’t stop there. He gave special shoutouts to Chin Han as Shang Tsung and Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, two major villains in the sequel.

Producer Todd Garner also chimed in with a cryptic but promising tease, tweeting, “The fun will start soon enough!”
Garner’s tweet likely means marketing is about to ramp up, as fans have eagerly been awaiting the first Mortal Kombat 2 trailer.

Hype Is Building Fast
This follows recent comments from Mortal Kombat II writer Jeremy Slater, who compared fan reactions at test screenings to Avengers: Endgame, saying the film had fans cheering and jumping out of their seats.
“I have been to those test screenings, which are full of Mortal Kombat fans, and watching them react to it the way I reacted to Avengers: Endgame,” said Slater. “They were cheering and jumping out of their seats. Every joke is landing, and they are loving it. It’s one of the greatest moments of my life. That’s why you get into this business.”
