The Sandman returns for its second and final season, and Netflix just dropped the full trailer, giving fans a look at Dream’s last chapter.
Volume 1 debuts July 3, followed by Volume 2 on July 24. A surprise bonus episode will land on July 31.
Watch the trailer below.

Final Season Focuses on Dream’s Reckoning
The trailer emphasizes the end of the story for Dream, also known as Morpheus, played by Tom Sturridge. After rebuilding the Dreaming and trying to move forward, Dream is pulled back into conflict with Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) and old wounds tied to his estranged son Orpheus.
Showrunner Allan Heinberg explained to Netflix, “We knew we only had enough story for one more season.” The new season adapts Seasons of Mist and Brief Lives, two of the most acclaimed arcs from Neil Gaiman’s comic.

What to Expect in Season 2
- Dream’s rebuilt kingdom and new palace
- Lucifer’s revenge plot continues
- Dream’s family drama comes to a head
- Expansions into new realms: Hell, Faerie, ancient Greece, Elizabethan England, the French Revolution
Season 2 will explore themes of change, consequence, and self-awareness. Dream must confront the results of his own arrogance and denial — and the fallout affects the entire Endless family.

New Characters Bring More Chaos
Season 2 introduces new Endless siblings and gods:
- Adrian Lester as Destiny
- Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium

In Season 1, Dream defeated the Corinthian and stopped the Dream Vortex. He also helped Calliope, his former partner and Orpheus’ mother. Season 2 picks up shortly after, with Dream attempting to leave the past behind — but it catches up quickly.
