While Sadie Sink has officially joined Spider-Man 4, it might not be how fans expected.
Previous rumors had Sadie Sink pegged as either Spider-Girl (May Parker) or even a young Jean Grey for the MCU’s eventual X-Men reboot, bit it’s now reported she’ll play an alternate universe version of Gwen Stacy in the upcoming film, officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Spider-Verse Twist?
The casting suggests Spider-Man 4 may be leaning into multiverse territory again, despite No Way Home already bringing in multiple Spider-Men and their villains. Whether Sink’s Gwen is a variant with powers—like Spider-Gwen—or just a dimensional counterpart remains to be seen.
The info comes via Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic:
“I was also told with regards to Spider-Man that Sadie Sync was going to be an alt-universe Gwen.”
She joins Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Zendaya (MJ), Jacob Batalon (Ned), and Liza Colón-Zayas in an undisclosed role. Rumors also point to Jon Bernthal returning as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, with Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
In the comics, Gwen Stacy is Peter Parker’s first love, known for her tragic death and alternate versions like Spider-Gwen in the multiverse.

Filming, Plot & Release Info
Spider-Man 4 is set to film this August in Glasgow and is currently scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
While Marvel and Sony are keeping plot details under wraps, longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal recently offered a key insight. Pascal said the story will explore the emotional fallout of Peter’s decision at the end of No Way Home:
“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker and he was gonna focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about.”

The Villains: A Lot of Them
The film is rumored to feature a crowded lineup of villains including Savage Hulk as the main villain, with Scorpion, Boomerang, Tombstone, Tarantula amd possibly Lady Chameleon.
Steven Yeun has been rumored for a villain role, along with Sarah Snook.
