WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has been named the host of the new American Gladiators reboot, coming soon to Prime Video.
The announcement was made by MGM Alternative ahead of Amazon’s annual upfront presentation.
The Miz Takes Center Stage
Known for his crossover appeal, The Miz brings experience from both the WWE ring and reality TV. He got his start on The Real World: Back to New York and became a two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion. He’s also appeared on Dancing with the Stars and his own series Miz & Mrs.

He added, “I’m beyond excited to announce that I’m the new host of AMERICAN GLADIATORS! The 10-year-old me is absolutely SCREAMING—this show was such a huge part of my childhood. I used to watch it with my dad, and being part of its return is bringing back so many amazing memories. A huge thank you to MGM and Amazon Prime Video for trusting me with such an iconic legacy. To the fans, we are working hard to create something truly incredible that honors the original while bringing fresh energy to a whole new generation. Get ready!!! AMERICAN GLADIATORS IS BACK, and it’s bigger and bolder than ever!”
This marks a return of the classic ‘90s competition show, with new events, a modern cast of Gladiators, and a few of the original challenges like “Gauntlet,” “Hang Tough,” and “The Eliminator.”
New Gladiators, Classic Energy
The rebooted American Gladiators will feature an updated cast made up of pro bodybuilders, Division I athletes, CrossFit champions, and elite fitness trainers. It builds on the success of the 2024 UK version, which became the most-watched new entertainment series in Britain in seven years.
Live Tour and 24/7 Channel
Adding to the momentum:
- American Gladiators 24/7 FAST channel is now live on Prime Video FAST, streaming 200+ episodes from the original 1989 series.
- Gladiators Live Tour, produced by Live Nation, sold out most venues within days of launch. Two extra shows have been added in Glasgow to meet demand. The tour runs Nov. 1 – Dec. 21, 2025.
