The anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI is so big that the recent GTA VI trailer topped Deadpool & Wolverine in terms of views in its first 24 hours.
The trailer release last Tuesday followed the news that Rockstar Games had delayed Grand Theft Auto VI until May 2026.

The delay is a good thing
While fans aren’t thrilled about the delay, it likely means the game will be all the better, as it gives developers an entire year to continue working on it. A GTA VI leaker even chimed in on X about the delay.
“One thing I’ll also say is that this source made it very clear to me that a delay to 2026 was ABSOLUTELY necessary,” said GameRoll. “If we had gotten GTA 6 in 2025, it would have been a significantly worse game. They began cutting a lot of cool stuff to try and make that deadline.”

GTA VI Trailer Smashes View Records Across Platforms
After the trailer dropped, Rockstar revealed that GTA VI racked up more views than Deadpool & Wolverine—which made over $1.3 billion at the box office—and even topped the first trailer, which was exclusive to YouTube.
Via THR, Rockstar said the Grand Theft Auto VI received over 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours.
That’s more than the first trailer’s 93 million views in the same 24-hour window, and it beats Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine Super Bowl trailer (365 million), Spider-Man: No Way Home (355 million), James Gunn’s Superman (250 million), and Marvel’s Fantastic Four (202 million).
As of Sunday, the GTA VI trailer has over 102 million views on Rockstar’s YouTube channel. Watch below.
