- Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch
- Gunther vs. Pat McAfee
Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton
John Cena defends his 17th World Title against longtime rival Randy Orton at WWE Backlash in Orton’s hometown, St. Louis. The two legends have clashed 21 times, with Cena holding the edge 13-7-1. This could be their final showdown, with a combined 31 World Titles between them.
Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Penta
Dominik Mysterio defends the Intercontinental Title against Penta at WWE Backlash in a heated rematch. Penta wasn’t pinned at WrestleMania and now gets another shot after taking out JD McDonagh, who helped Mysterio retain on Raw.
United States Champion Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight vs. Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre (Fatal 4-Way Match)
Jacob Fatu defends the U.S. Title in a Fatal 4-Way at WWE Backlash against LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre. After chaos erupted around the title picture, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis made the match official for May 10.
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch
Lyra Valkyria defends the Women’s Intercontinental Title against Becky Lynch at WWE Backlash. After helping Lyra win gold at WrestleMania, Lynch revealed she attacked Bayley to take her spot, turning the alliance into a grudge match.
Gunther vs. Pat McAfee
Gunther faces Pat McAfee at WWE Backlash after attacking the Raw announce team. McAfee steps back into the ring for his first singles match since WrestleMania 39, looking for payback against The Ring General.
