Simu Liu Shows Off 'Avengers' Muscles: Excited About The X-Men

Simu Liu is in super shape to star in Avengers: Doomsday as the actor who plays Shang-Chi was among the twenty-seven announced as part of the cast.

Shang-Chi is back

The film is now in production, and just about a week ago, Simu Liu posted an image of himself without a shirt flexing his comic book movie bod.

“Abracadabra,” he teased on social media.

Excited for Avengers: Doomsday

Simu Liu also appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show (watch below) confirming his casting in Avengers: Doomsday. Per the norm, he couldn’t talk specifics:

“We are so excited to get back to work. It is obviously going to be such an amazing big movie that is going to be so secretive and that I can’t talk about at all. But what I will say is that I knew that I was going to be involved in it in obviously some capacity, but I didn’t know who else they were announcing. I mean, they would not tell us anything because Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo kind of ruined it for all of us. Now they don’t tell anyone.”

Marvel’s big casting announcement also confirmed both Professor Xavier and Magneto from the previous Fox Marvel movies will be appearing. Simu Liu is particularly excited about the X-Men:

“I saw when Sir Ian [McKellen] and Sir Patrick [Stewart] were announced, these are like two of the greatest actors to ever walk the face of the Earth, and that kind of blew my mind a little bit.”

Is Simu Liu in Spider-Man 4?

While not touched upon, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton also happens to be directing Spider-Man 4, which films this summer as well. It’s speculated Simu Liu and Shang-Chi will also be appearing in the fourth Spidey film.

Regarding Shang-Chi 2, the talk is that it is still happening, but if it ever sees the light of day, it appears to be years away.
