That’s a wrap for Peacemaker Season 2 as James Gunn confirms the show has finished filming on its second season.
“And that is a WRAP on #Peacemaker season 2, including our last remaining actors @steveagee, @real_timmeadows, @solrodr & @brandon__stanley (& our DP Sam McCurdy pictured here moments after the last shot.),” said Gunn on social media.
Gunn added, “Thanks to our entire cast & crew who made this a wonderful experience. My relief to have a break from shooting after ten months straight is countered by how much I’ll miss all of you!”
Gunn recently touched upon Peacemaker Season 1 being canon, as all the events in Peacemaker Season 2 are DCU canon. Gunn said anything mentioned in the DCU going forward is canon, but said the Justice League scenes are not canon.
“Real simply, nothing for sure is canon unless you see it in Creature Commandos forward for the DCU,” explained Gunn to IGN. “Now, in Creature Commandos, you will hear them talk about things that happened in Suicide Squad or Peacemaker, well then those things automatically become canon.”
Gunn continued, “The truth is, almost all of Peacemaker is canon, except [coughs and laughs] Justice League — which we will kind of deal with in the next season of Peacemaker.”
Back in October, Gunn also showed off a first look at a new character in Peacemaker Season 2. It’s speculated the character could be Apache Chief or maybe even Gunn’s version of Hawkman.
Plot details are not known for Peacemaker Season 2 which is expected to air later in 2025 after Gunn’s Superman debuts in July. New to the cast includes Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. who will also be playing the character in Creature Commandos in December and in Superman.
