Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: Better Than Part 1

zack snyder rebel moon part 2 review

Despite the Rotten Tomatoes Score being worse than Part 1, I have to say Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part 2 is better than the first part — at least the last hour.

I thought Part 1 was pure garbage, so I wasn’t expecting much with Part 2, and that did continue into the start of Part 2; however, at least with the second half of the movie, Snyder gives you tons of action but it still comes up short and fails to deliver.

Regarding the start of Part 2, you can completely skip the first hour and you won’t miss a beat. It’s all drawn out nonsense as it’s simply the characters talking at the village with some slow motion and goofy songs mixed in. It’s boring AF.

So as Zack gives us an ultra-boring first hour, I figured the second hour would be action-packed, and I wasn’t disappointed.

If you are a fan of Zack’s directing, cinematography and action, you should like the second hour of Rebel Moon Part 2. It’s filled with tons of action, Michael Bay-type explosions, etc.

Where Snyder lacks is story as that’s where Rebel Moon really suffers, and similar to Part 1, Part 2 does have an editing issue (see spoiler below).

I think Part 1 and Part 2 should have been combined into one movie that had better character development and story, screenplay, directing, and editing, and then there might have been a movie there.

Similar to Part 1, Rebel Moon Part 2 gets 2/10 stars because the first hour is horrible but the second hour is at least watchable. Watch Dune Part 1 and Part 2, instead.

Note: Spoilers follow

This one is still bugging me: One of the more cooler scenes in the movie is when the robot shows up to help the villagers.

It’s been set up since the robot first appeared in Part 1, so you can’t wait to see it.

However, when the robot does show up, I was like, “WTF?”

I actually rewinded and watched the scene a half dozen times trying to figure out what happened.

So one of the huge tanks fires at Djimon Hounsou and Staz Nair, and then the robot just appears out of the middle of nowhere? Huh? WTF is going on?

Then when the robot appears, everybody just sits their gawking. WTF, lol. Where the f’k did the robot come from?

It’s things like this which make me despise Rebel Moon, similar to Part 1, which also had editing issues, like when the gunship was destroyed by shooting the outside gunner. It’s like Snyder thinks the fans are complete morons. Seriously.

Which is the best fighting game series?
