Add even more characters to James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy as it is said Miriam Shor has been cast in the flick as the head of the CIA.
The info comes from scooper DanielRPK so consider it unofficial at this time.
Update: James Gunn shoots down the rumor: “Miriam isn’t presently cast either, but I’d love to find a place for her,” he said on Threads.

I think this is the first time we are hearing the CIA is directly involved with the movie.
Worth a mention is that Zack Snyder had the CIA involved in his own Middle East scene in Batman vs. Superman. Snyder’s version of Jimmy Olsen was a CIA operative at that compound in Nairomi, Africa. Snyder killed off Olsen in the movie.
It was thought James Gunn was also going with a Middle East scene to introduce David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, but recently saw Gunn shoot down those rumors, so we’ll have to see what Gunn has in store.
It has been rumored that Gunn and Corenswet’s Superman gets involved in the Middle East involving dictators where certain superheroes, thought to be The Authority, also respond. Apparently, The Authority or whoever responds thinks Superman is to blame and they clash. I think The Authority in the comics isn’t involved with the government or politics (correct me if I am wrong) so that might not be how the CIA gets involved.
It has also been rumored that Gunn wants to set up Superman vs the Suicide Squad vs the Justice League, so the CIA could always be connected to Amanda Waller or something.
It could also be possible that there is a CIA mole at the Daily Planet, but that would be sorta similar to what Snyder did with Jimmy Olsen, I suppose.
What is also interesting is that DC Comics writer Tom King is an ex-CIA officer (you actually never stop) and is advising Gunn on the DCU.
Miriam Shor was featured in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as Recorder Vim.
Superman: Legacy has a July 11, 2025 release date.
David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent and Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane. Isabela Merced is Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion is Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi is playing Mister Terrific. María Gabriela de Faría is playing The Engineer from The Authority described as a “villain,” with Anthony Carrigan cast as Metamorpho. Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio is Eve Teschmacher. Nicholas Hoult is also in talks for Lex Luthor, and Brainiac might also be in the movie. Sean Gunn is playing Maxwell Lord. The cast will also include possibly the new Supergirl and others.
Superman: Legacy is described by DC as telling the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
