Zack Snyder isnât just moving ahead with Escape from New York. Heâs also keeping the SnyderVerse crowd fired up.
Following news that Snyder is writing and directing a reimagining of John Carpenterâs Escape from New York, the filmmaker returned to Instagram with more DCEU posts, including another look at Ben Affleckâs Knightmare Batman and a Henry Cavill Superman poster for Man of Steel.
Snyder fans, of course, immediately picked up on it.
Zack Snyder Shares New Knightmare Batman Post
Snyder posted another image of Ben Affleck as Knightmare Batman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and used the caption to talk about shooting the sequence in IMAX.
âShot the Knightmare sequence from Batman v Superman entirely in IMAX,â Snyder wrote. âIt was our first real taste of the 1.43:1 aspect ratio that would later be fully realized in Zack Snyderâs Justice League. Also the chin at full power.â
The post pulled the expected response from fans, with comments calling the Knightmare sequence ahead of its time and once again asking for the SnyderVerse to be restored.
One fan account also called for the Batfleck movie, which remains one of the big âwhat could have beenâ projects from Snyderâs DC run.
Snyder Also Posts Henry Cavill Superman Poster
Snyder didnât stop with Batman.
He also posted a Man of Steel poster featuring Henry Cavillâs Superman imagery, calling it an âAwesome Man of Steel poster.â
The comments again filled up with fans praising Cavillâs Superman and asking for Man of Steel 2.
One fan wrote, âNo Superman film will ever top Man of Steel, other than a sequel of course,â while another simply asked for âMan of Steel 2.â
Itâs the kind of reaction Snyder posts usually generate, but the timing is hard to ignore. Snyder just landed Escape from New York, fans are already talking about who should play Snake Plissken, and yet, now heâs back posting Affleck and Cavill DC material.

Will the SnyderVerse return?
I previously reported that Saudi-backed interests were looking at Warner Bros. Discovery with major franchise ambitions, including bringing back Snyder and possibly even Christopher Nolan.
The larger play, according to what I have been told, would be about turning DC into a true rival to Marvel again, with the SnyderVerse viewed as one of the few proven DC brands that still has a massive built-in fanbase.
More recently, while at WonderCon, I exclusively reported that Snyder is âgung-hoâ about doing The Dark Knight Returns and a Justice League finale if the opportunity opens up.
I’ve heard that Snyder has both projects mapped out, with The Dark Knight Returns a major spotlight and the Justice League finale wrapping up the story Snyder started with Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Zack Snyderâs Justice League.
