Matt Reeves Announces ‘The Batman: Part II’ Cast

Matt Reeves is teasing The Batman: Part II again, this time with new posts on X featuring Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight and Jeffrey Wright’s Gordon.

Following last week’s early camera test showing the Batmobile and Reeves’ “snow tires” tease, the director returned with more Batman posts, writing, “We meet again, my friend…” along with a bat emoji.

The post includes a GIF of Pattinson’s Batman standing in the rain, giving fans another reminder that Reeves is officially back in Gotham.

A second post features Wright as Gordon, so Reeves could be announcing and confirming the cast.

Update: A third post confirms Andy Serkis’ return as Alfred, and the fourth announces Colin Farrell back as Oz Cobblepot.

Reeves’ latest post does not reveal story details, but the timing is hard to ignore.

The director just shared what was an early camera test for The Batman: Part II, showing the Batmobile in action on a snowy, muddy road. The caption, “snow tires,” quickly sparked speculation that the sequel could be heading into a colder Gotham.

Now Reeves is following that up with another Batman tease.

The Batman: Part II Moves Forward

The Batman: Part II has had a long road to production, with the movie currently set to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.

Reeves returns to direct and co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin.

Robert Pattinson is back as Bruce Wayne/Batman, with the sequel expected to continue the grounded crime saga set up in The Batman and expanded through The Penguin.

The cast also includes Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb / The Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, and Charles Dance as Christopher Dent. Barry Keoghan is also rumored to return as Joker.
