Mattel Unveils Full ‘Masters of the Universe’ Movie Product Line Ahead of He-Man Release

Mattel is going all-in on Masters of the Universe ahead of the live-action movie release this summer.

The company announced a global rollout tied to the upcoming film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios, with the first wave hitting stores starting April 25, 2026. The launch spans toys, collectibles, apparel, publishing, accessories, games, and more, with additional releases planned throughout 2026 and into 2027.

Mattel rolls out major Masters of the Universe line

Mattel says the new product push is inspired directly by the live-action movie and will include multiple categories built around the franchise.

Among the first items announced are new Masters of the Universe action figures, including a Kids Core line, a Chronicles Collector line, and Origins-style versions of characters from the movie. Mattel is also releasing Barbie Signature dolls based on He-Man and Teela, along with movie-themed products from partners including Funko, Goodr, Hot Wheels, Mattel Brick Shop, and UNO.

The Hot Wheels tie-in will feature He-Man and Skeletor as drivers of 1:64 scale cars, while the Mattel Brick Shop set includes a buildable Snake Mountain Lair with 12 NanoWorld figures. UNO is also getting a themed deck with a special Sword of Power rule.

More products are coming beyond toys

Mattel says the rollout is much bigger than just action figures.

The company confirmed more than 70 partners worldwide are involved across apparel, accessories, publishing, and collectibles. That list includes names such as Bioworld, BoxLunch, Factory Entertainment, Fanattik, Hot Topic, Mondo, Prime 1 Studio, Rubies II, Spirit Halloween, Zumiez, and more.

Mattel had already announced a separate Masters of the Universe publishing program for 2026. That slate includes a young adult Teela novel, a junior retelling, a graphic novel set in the movie universe, and an art book.

Mattel is treating Masters of the Universe like a major franchise launch

The size of the rollout makes it clear Mattel sees Masters of the Universe as more than just another movie tie-in.

Nick Karamanos, Mattel’s senior vice president of Action Figures, Preschool & In-Licensing, said the company built a cross-category line with Amazon MGM Studios that is meant to honor the brand’s legacy while also introducing it to a new generation through toys, games, and premium fan experiences.

That also lines up with how the movie has been positioned so far. Mattel and Amazon previously confirmed the film gets a theatrical release in the U.S. on June 5, 2026, with Amazon MGM Studios handling domestic distribution and Sony Pictures International Releasing handling international rollout.

Masters of the Universe release details

The live-action Masters of the Universe opens in U.S. theaters on June 5, 2026.

The film is directed by Travis Knight. Nicholas Galitzine stars as Prince Adam/He-Man, with Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, and Kristen Wiig voicing Roboto. Amazon says the story follows Adam returning to Eternia after being separated for 15 years, where he finds the planet under Skeletor’s rule and must embrace his destiny as He-Man.
