The April issue of Wired Magazine features an interview with Batman Vs. Superman director Zack Snyder where Snyder talks Man of Steel, Bruce Wayne, Justice League and Wonder Woman.
The Superman Home Page posted a few highlights:
On killing of Zod in Man of Steel:
“To me, the killing of Zod is not as big a deal as the destruction of Metropolis. It’s important that these movies have consequences, that there is collateral damage. In Batman v Superman I wanted to show how Bruce Wayne feels when reduced to a sideline sitter. Batman is frightened by his impotence in the face of that.”
On the superpowers of the Justice League characters:
We’ve been strict with our rules. What they can do – Batman, Superman, Flash, Cyborg – we really are hard on ourselves because we want all those things to have a reality, a mythological grounding.
On Wonder Woman:
“Female empowerment is a thing I’ve gone after in all my films. They all have strong female representation. It’s about time Wonder Woman was represented correctly.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves.
Synopsis:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
