Zack Snyder has shared a new image of Antje Traue as Faora from Man of Steel, reigniting praise for one of the film’s most memorable villains.
The image highlights Faora’s intimidating Kryptonian armor and commanding presence, reminding fans why the character stood out in Snyder’s 2013 Superman reboot.
“Ferocious, Elegant” Performance
Alongside the image, Snyder praised Traue’s performance, calling her portrayal of Faora “ferocious” and “elegant,” while singling out her physicality and movement as something special.
Faora was widely praised for her brutal combat scenes and no-nonsense demeanor, often viewed as one of the strongest on-screen Kryptonians outside of Zod and Superman himself.
Many fans also wanted to see Faora escape the Phantom Zone and tackle Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

A Fan-Favorite DC Villain
Traue’s Faora has remained a fan favorite more than a decade later, frequently cited as an example of Snyder’s grounded, physical approach to super-powered characters.
The role also helped define the tone of Man of Steel, which leaned heavily into realism, weight, and consequences.
Snyder sharing the image has once again sparked discussion around his DC era and the lasting impact of his casting choices.
