‘Willow’ Trailer and Premiere Date Announced For Disney Plus

Lucasfilm has released the Willow trailer and announced the release date with the release of first look images featuring Warwick Davis back in the titular role.

“This fall, a new adventure begins. Watch the teaser trailer for #Willow, an Original series streaming November 30, only on #DisneyPlus,” states the video description.

In the original movie released in 1988 directed by Ron Howard with the story by George Lucas who also produced, Warwick Davis plays Willow Ufgood, a reluctant farmer who plays a critical role in protecting a special baby from a tyrannical queen who vows to destroy her and take over the world.

The new series is said to follow a group on a mission to save a kidnapped prince.

The series also stars Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Amer Chadha-Patel, and Tony Revolori from Marvel’s Spider-Man movies.

Disney describes the series as: Willow, from Lucasfilm, set decades after Ron Howard’s 1988 movie, continues the spirit of adventure, heroics, and humor of the original film in this new series debuting on Disney+ in 2022. Warwick Davis will return in the role of the great sorcerer, Willow Ufgood, with Jon Chu (director of the groundbreaking Crazy Rich Asians) directing the pilot episode.
