Warner Bros. finally confirms the identity of the dead Robin from the Batman Vs. Superman costume seen in the Batcave.

A sneak peek at WB’s new DC Exhibit features the costume in which the tour guide confirms it’s for Jason Todd.

“This was one of the big things from Batman vs. Superman right across this way. The Jason Todd Robin suit,” Tour guide John confirms in the video below. “Spray painted on the front ‘Ha ha. The joke’s on you Batman.’ Those of you who know the storyline, know what happened to this Robin. Comic book fans unite!”

Tour guide John also noted the costumes used in the exhibit are not replicas, but authentic and straight from production.

Some other details about this Robin:

Affleck offered about Batman: “He’s bitterly disappointed in the past that he’s lost this guy who fought by his side. That character’s death must have been devastating to him, and he’s suffered. We get the sense that he’s suffered a lot of devastating losses before this movie even starts… He’s projecting his own sense of failure, his own sense of disillusionment, his own cynicism onto Superman.

Zack Snyder on this Robin: “In my mind it was that Robin died about ten years earlier during some run-in with a young Joker, and that was interesting to me, sort of a fun back story to play with. I felt like the whole idea was that there had been loss and there had been sacrifice. In a weird way he sacrificed everything to be Batman. He doesn’t have a life outside the cave. I thought by including Robin – a dead Robin –  was helping us understand that he’s been on quite a little journey.”

It’s been rumored that Jason Todd and the Red Hood will be a part of the Ben Affleck Batman movie as well.
