Check out a first look at The Leftovers Season 2 as HBO has released a preview trailer.

The series is based on the best-selling post-Rapture novel by Tom Perrotta that sees 2% of the world’s population having disappeared.

Season 2 starts out three years after the event and gets a new supporting cast and location, this time taking place in the the little town of Jarden where no one has vanished.

The Leftovers Season 2 stars Regina King, Justin Theroux and Amy Brenneman.

Look for it this Fall on HBO.

Season 2 synopsis:

More than three years ago, 2% of the world’s population inexplicably vanished. 140 million people, gone in an instant. No country, no state, no city was spared, except for one small town in eastern Texas. Population: 9261. Departures: Zero.

Series is created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta. Season 2 is executive produced by Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta, Mimi Leder, Tom Spezialy and Peter Berg; co-executive produced by Jacqueline Hoyt, Gene Kelly, Ron Yerxa & Albert Berger. Produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television. Lindelof serves as showrunner. Now in production in Texas, the ten-episode second season debuts this fall.
